LIBERIAN WRITERS NETWORK

The Liberian Writers Network is pleased to announce a collaborative venture to promote Liberian literature, drama, and poetry, as part of our national process of transformation.

Recognizing the important role creative writers have to play in the cultural revival of our country at this critical juncture, we seek to pool our individual and collective talents and resources through a networking partnership.

It may be rightly said that we are seeing a vibrant flowering of Liberian literary expression, primarily through individual efforts. This burst of creative energy is a major factor in the formation of LWN.

The primary aim of LWN is to serve as a structure to bring together Liberian creative writers, foster awareness of creative works, create an educational environment for literary interests, coordinate literary programs and activities, encourage creative expression, advocate for the cultural arts, affiliate with artistic organizations, address the limited support and exposure of Liberian literature, drama, and poetry, promote Liberian creativity, and advance support and visibility for Liberian creative writers.

A committee is being formed for new officers. Membership is democratic and open to all Liberian creative writers.
