on November 12, 2008 with Partner organization, International Books
Project (IBP). The implementation of the evaluation component started
in December 9, 2008, and was completed on February 6, 2009.
The years of brutal violence in Liberia destroyed educational facilities, preventing youths, and Children from attending schools.
The evaluation was carried out in Grand Bassa, Nimba, Montserrado, Rivercess, Sineo, Grand Kru counties. It considered, in its evaluation exercise, developed and underdeveloped areas, as revealed by the demographic and population report issued by Liberia Institute of Statistics, Geographic (LISGIS). A total of 59 schools were in the enumeration area of the project. Taking into consideration the population of 3,489,072 people with 15 political sub-divisions (counties), and the conditions within these counties as to education, volunteers were trained, and deployed to prepare the enumeration area maps to identify the situations. Schools that were targeted are public schools, orphanages, community schools, colleges, and universities.
