Religious Tension Explodes In Jos, Nigeria

josLast week, I wrote about the political tension that is hovering over Nigeria like a cumulus cloud.  The Sunday Dogo Nahawa massacres carried out by Muslim Fulani against Christians have added a new dimension to the tense political situation.  According to news reports, Christians were frightened out of their homes, and as they ran for their lives, they were hacked with machetes and shot to death.

On Friday March 12, 2010, the Medical Director of the Eco Lab at the University Of Pennsylvania, Dr. Meryl Cohen, donated an ultra sound machine worth close to 150,000.00 to FELMAUSA as part of the University’s contribution to FELMAUSA healthcare initiative. Receiving the equipment, the FELMAUSA executives expressed profound gratitude for this opportunity.

Dr. Alfred Amah died on February 26, 2010, after complaining of stomach illness he experienced right after work on Friday, which never subsided up to the time of his death (Daily Observer 3/2/2010).  According Star Radio Internet magazine dated 2/27/10, Dr. Amah’s death was declared as heart attacked.
