(One of Liberia's Greatest Educators)
In every culture, in every age and in every civilization, ancient
philosophers informed us that great souls reincarnate in order to
address the sufferings of others. These souls in their quest to be of
service to their brothers and sisters provide light and inspiration.
These personalities do possess great knowledge, but yet are people of
little financial and material means.

One of Liberia’s Great Servants
Mankind, down through the ages has come the cry for knowledge and more
knowledge. Around us, everything is changing and nothing seems
permanent and fixed. The mountains crumble away, the rivers dry up in
the Sahara Desert, and cease to flow, islands sink and new seas are
formed.

On
February 22nd, I received an email from a fellow Liberian writer about
the passing of Prof. Wilton Sankawolo. He asked if I will write
something about the well known Liberian writer. He made reference to
the review I wrote of the late writer’s last major work, a novel titled
Sundown at Dawn. Immediately after reading that email, I visited the
various Liberian websites to confirm the news.

crying out the dirge of a man who would not return home.

The unmerciful arresting officer called Death continues to lay hands on
our compatriots. We lost thousands of them during the years of wars,
and when we’re thinking that the end of the darkest period of our
history will afford us the opportunity to see what will happen to the
New Liberia, Death pays his unexpected and unwelcome visit.
