The absense of morality Print E-mail

goodsamaritan“The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.” ~  Oscar Wilde

Ladies and Gentlemen I have been away for a long while; however, last year 20008, at the end of the  year and the eve of 2009  I visited a church for the new year celebration many of my friends said let us stay home and buy beers to watch the new years celebration at the New York time square look at the thousand lights bulls raised by I refuse to do so and went to worship my God.  When I entered into the church the choir begin to sing a song called "Try a little kindness...."

The first thing that ran on my mind was a story told by Jesus Christ about the pharisees who saw a helpless man by the road side but refused to help him the man sat there suffering until a good Samaritan stopped to help the helpless man.

The Pharisees did nothing to help the helpless man, even though they were often the most vocal and influential people They were also known as pious, and thought to be loyal to God, or loved of God,

I was angry when I read that story and proud of the little guy who helped the helpless man and  saw him as my hero and I wondered if the pharisees were worshiping Man or God? The lesson from the Pharisees' example is that self-righteousness is not righteousness, and that God's true people are to live according to all of God's Word, not just certain parts that are most convenient or to one's own liking.

The answer I came up with is if the pharisees were worshiping Man then he is right for his action but if they were worshiping  God that aloof behavior was wrong..

My question is why will such a man be a leader in a moral organization?

This also brought to my mind the story I read of our President Madam Sirleaf, who paid special tribute to Mr. Karyea for "demonstrating a true spirit of honesty and integrity in support of Government's determination to fight corruption in all sectors. Selected by the Civil Service Agency as the 2008 Civil Servant of the Year, Mr. Karyea currently serves as Deputy Chief Examiner at the Ministry of Finance. He was singled out for recognition for his refusal to accept US $20-thousand offered him by a drug trafficker in 2006 to facilitate the smuggling of a huge quantity of cocaine into the country. The President was full of praises for Mr. Karyea who then served as a custom officer at the Roberts International Airport. Mr. Karyea was also presented a cash reward of US 1-thousand dollars by the President."

In the mean time government officials that should lead and be loyal to the nation end up selling out our nation and not helping the people they are supposed to govern. For example Charles Taylor and his former officials betrayed the nation they were supposed to be loyal to and they completely looted our treasury.

Mr. Karyea the ordinary citizen showed more morality and kindness than the so call big government officials that were supposed to be held to high standards and esteem. This was a reflection of the good Samaritan story of the Bible.

Leaders have become people who look out for self interest and not for the good of the people they are supposed to govern. Morality has been thrown out the window and self promotion has become the order of the day.

This continued confusion between what should be moral and not might very well put the church to extinction.

The church in the near future faces serious risk of being closed down by the state because homosexuality is slowly becoming legalized, and homosexual priests are being sold are being "cool".  Pastors will be urged not to preach against homosexuality and protests against immorality will become a sin like a criminal offense.

We all have "Try a little kindness"  or else we'll experience another Sodom and Gomorrah.

“Try a Little Kindness”

If you see your brother standing by the road
With a heavy load from the seeds he's sowed
And if you see your sister falling by the way
Just stop and stay you're going the wrong way

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

Don't walk around the down and out
Lend a helping hand instead of doubt
And the kindness that you show every day
Will help someone along their way

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

INSANITY
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah is just a Biblical bedtime story. Like the snake and the apple and the tree of knowledge, of good and evil. If you behave insane, and decide to burn down your own town, angels from heaven won't come down to stop you from becoming an arson. But if the police catches you in the act, you will surely feel the weight. Morality and justice are two sidekicks that govern the actions of men. But most often, justice previals where the waning strength of morality fails.

Hey brother.. this is what we'll get on the street in the near future.

'Human Flesh Tastes Like Pork'

In his first television interview, German cannibal Armin Meiwes describes the taste of human flesh, provides a decent recipe for steak, explains his fascination with the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel -- and insists that he's a normal person.

Armin Meiwes, serving a life sentence for killing a man and eating more than 20 kilos of him, insists he is a normal guy.
Armin Meiwes, the German cannibal serving a life sentence for killing and eating a man who begged to be devoured, has described how the meat tasted of pork and how he prepared an elaborate meal of human steak in a green pepper sauce with croquettes and Brussels sprouts.

In his first television interview, broadcast on Monday night on the RTL channel, Meiwes, 46, looked relaxed and healthy as he spoke about his decades-long yearning to consume another man.

The case came to light in December 2002, and the grisly details made world headlines. Meiwes filmed himself killing, disembowelling and cutting up the corpse of computer engineer Bernd Brandes, 42, whom he had met after posting messages in Internet chatrooms seeking "men for slaughter."

"Yes, people who can't think their way into this find it monstrous. But in principle I'm a normal human being," he told his interviewer Günter Stampf, who has written a book, "Interview with a Cannibal," based on 30 meetings with Meiwes in jail. The interviews were approved by the Frankfurt district court that convicted him.

"I sauteed the steak of Bernd, with salt, pepper, garlic and nutmeg. I had it with Princess croquettes, Brussels sprouts and a green pepper sauce," said Meiwes. He said the meat was a little tough. He froze meal-sized portions of Brandes, some in the form of minced meat, and ate more than 20 kilograms of it in the months following the March 2001 killing.

Lifelong Fantasies

During his two trials in 2004 and 2006, Meiwes said he had always dreamt of having a younger brother -- "someone to be part of me" -- and had become fascinated with cannibalism as a way to fulfil that obsession. His desires were fuelled by the Internet, where he had contact with around 400 men interested in cannibalism.

He found a perfect match in Brandes, who was obsessed with being eaten. "The first bite was of course a peculiar, indefinable feeling at first because I had yearned for that for 30 years, that this inner connection would be made perfect through this flesh," Meiwes said in the interview.

"The flesh tastes like pork, a little bit more bitter, stronger. It tastes quite good," he said.

He said that when he was a child, he had enjoyed his mother reading him the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel," about a witch who traps two children and prepares to eat the boy. "The bit where Hansel is to be eaten was interesting. You wouldn't believe how many Hansels are whizzing around the Internet."

Police estimate that around 10,000 people in Germany alone share Meiwes' fascination with cannibalism -- either eating human flesh or being eaten.

Meiwes, serving his sentence in a prison in Kassel, central Germany, could be eligible for parole after serving a mandatory 15 years in jail. A psychiatric examination conducted ahead of his trials concluded that he is not insane but has a "severely disturbed soul."

"I want to undergo therapy, I know I need that and I hope it will be done at some point," said Meiwes

Gay Nigerians face Sharia death
-------------------------------------------------------
Eighteen men have been remanded in prison following their arrest for alleged sodomy in northern Nigeria, the state-owned news agency, Nan, reports.

The men were arrested in a hotel in north-eastern Bauchi State, which is governed by the Islamic Sharia law.

The Sharia punishment for sodomy is death by stoning.

The men, reportedly wearing women's clothes, are said to have gone to Bauchi town from neighbouring states to celebrate a "gay wedding".

Sharia judge Malam Tanimu ordered that the 18 be remanded in prison after they were arraigned before him on Wednesday.

Prosecuting police officer Tadius Boboi said the men's actions had contravened Sharia law, adopted in Bauchi and a dozen other states in Muslim northern Nigeria in 2000.

Amputations

More than a dozen Nigerian Muslims have been sentenced to death by stoning and for sexual offences ranging from adultery and homosexuality.

But none of these death sentences have actually been carried out as they were either thrown out on appeal or commuted to prison terms as a result of pressure from human rights groups.

Many others have been sentenced to flogging by horsewhip for drinking.

But there have been two amputations in north-western Zamfara State which pioneered the introduction of the Islamic legal system in the country.

Taboo

Nigeria, like many African countries, is a conservative society where homosexuality is considered a taboo.

The Nigerian parliament has been trying to pass a controversial law introduced by former President Olusegun Obasanjo banning gay rights organisations.

Gay activists and some human rights groups have condemned the proposed legislation and called for its rejection.

But homosexuality and same sex marriage are illegal in Nigeria and are considered very serious offences.

In April, a woman reportedly fled Nigeria after being accused of organising a polygamous lesbian wedding.

She later denied the reports.

Two years ago, a Sharia court sentenced a man to six months in prison and fined him $38 for living as a woman for seven years in Kano.

Abomination
Gbazon,

A sin is a sin! A sin is an abomination. Homosexuality is a sin and therefore an abomination.

The funniest thing about punishing sinners is that "none of us is perfect", not by the stetch of anyone's imagination. No, not one! If a crime is involved in homosexuality, any guilty individual should be punished.

Homosexuality in my view is an abnormal lifesyle. There's no way I can justify it. I don't hate those individauls who practice homosexuality, I detest the abnormal lifesyle of homosexuality! Period.
However, when a person disguises himself as a woman for a seven-year period, I think my point is conspicously made, which is to say that homosexuals are abnormal individauls. Oure and simple! Now, anyone can defend them until doomsday, but I will not change, I am sorry to say.

Verdict:
The Nigerian homosexual who posed for a seven-year period (in my view) should face a stiff punishment. Maybe Ma Ellen can do a better spanking job (since she uses a Nigerian to head Liberia's army) than the Sharia people.

(I am not changing the topic, but as a staunch supporter of Ma Ellen, I can never understand why another country's army man is head of Liberia's army. Should in case things flare up between Nigeria and say, Liberia, doos she (Ma Ellen) immediately turn him over? I hope I didn't change the topic, and if I did, well drop it!)

Listen to this:
A good Moslem does not drink, right? Please!
Now, these are the same Sharia people who want to do amputations or spanking?

No one amongst us is perfect, my friend!

Being Gay in Liberia
Homoglobia: Out in Africa-
If you thought you had it tough growing up, try being young and gay or lesbian in Liberia

By Jess Langley
If you thought you had it tough growing up, try being young and gay or lesbian in Liberia.

" I’m more nervous than a go-go dancer at a Madonna audition,” quips Samuel down the line in a mellow West African accent. “The dancing queens are fired up and we’re ready to go!”

It’s karaoke night in Monrovia, the Liberian capital, and I’m bumping down Tubman Boulevard in a rattly Land Cruiser. Dressed 1980s punk style, I’ve applied safety pins to my clothes, written ‘love’ on my knuckles, and wound a studded belt around my neck.

A Nigerian peacekeeper cocks his head at the next checkpoint. I lift my dark glasses to give him a smile, and he nods and waves me through, one finger on the trigger of his assault rifle.

“ You see, it works,” proclaims Emma, dressed in skater pants, her hair in tight braids. She flexes a wiry bicep covered in a blue biro tattoo of a Chinese dragon, painstakingly copied from a pirated DVD. “When you grow up, the bad men start to come behind you. And so it’s better to be a boy. They leave you be.”

Emma is 16 years old, or so the evidence suggests. She tells strangers she’s 13, and her small frame doesn’t betray her.
“ You do that,” I tell her. “You keep telling people you’re 13. It will stop people wanting to marry you.”

She gives a knowing nod and a smile. In a recent government survey, 92 per cent of Liberian women reported experiencing some form of sexual violence. Emma’s ambiguous gender is a force field.

I’ve spent a year in Monrovia, and we’ve formed a motley crew. In the driveway of my heavily fortified compound we laugh and break coconuts as brown-uniformed guards watch on. The coconuts bounce off the concrete driveway in unexpected directions like errant footballs. When one cracks, Samuel’s dark muscles ripple as he drives his fingers into the wedge to prise the green husk from the precious nut inside.

Samuel and Emma enter my compound on a daily basis. Emma lives with her grandma in a tarpaulin-roofed shack outside my gate. We do homework together. I’m a terrible educationalist and Emma seems dyslexic, but it’s a good excuse to feed her a hot meal.

The neighbours see Samuel come and go with Hans, my neighbour. As he walks the laneway of corrugated-iron dwellings to visit his older German lover, Samuel runs the gauntlet of sideways glances. Samuel tells Emma to be careful too, coming and going to my house. He doesn’t want her to attract the same whispering suspicions.

There are an estimated 1.5 million people in Monrovia. The average life expectancy is less than 45 and 23 per cent of babies born will not reach their fifth birthday. Reminders of a brutal civil war stagger down potholed streets in the forms of blind beggars and amputees.

Gay liberation exists only on hotjocks.com and hi5, delivered via a heart-breakingly slow modem.
We take a break from Whitney, Elton and ‘My Sharona’ in the karaoke lounge, and celebrate a queer New Year’s Eve over a bottle of whiskey in a backyard by a swamp. In a city with no running water and no mains electricity, we’re lucky to have a single naked bulb for light and a Nokia phone for music.

“ We don’t want to attract attention,” says another friend, Jojo, as he leans against the chest of his partner of five years.
Over the course of a year we’ve come to love each other; we’re a family. Emma’s grandma has a boyfriend now; he eats the fried fish and rice that she puts on the table each day, and Emma comes to me thinner than before, despite the foil-wrapped food parcels I send home with her each night.

Samuel’s older lover seems to be getting gruffer and more down-beat as the stress of his job takes hold.
“14 years in Africa. I must be crazy,” Hans mutters in a thick Bavarian accent, shaking his head like a condemned man.
I try to be a good role model in the time we have together. I tell Emma she never needs to marry; she never even needs to kiss a boy. I don’t kiss boys. I have my best friend Sally and we live together and might have a family one day.
Emma nods, tucking her hands into the pockets of her hoodie. I show her photos on the internet of drag kings, and a shot of me with a fake moustache.

Emma brings a doe-eyed teenage girl to my farewell party, and reaches up and whispers in my ear: “This is Bindu, my girlfriend.”

Samuel has tears in his eyes as I drop him at home for the last time. He gives me a string of plastic beads, still warm from his chest, and says, “Until I met you I never thought I could be happy to be gay.”

Gayl lifestyle
Corrections:
In post number 8, two words are misspelled and they are:

1. oure, it was meant to be
"pure".

2. doos, it was meant to be
"does".

I don't want the reader to think I am speaking Hebrew or Swahili or maybe some kind of Bantu dialect.

GayLib,
I am sorry to say that I disagree with homosexuality or bi-sexuality. But, because I love my neighbor as myself, I embrace all humans whose lifestyles are unlike mine.

If a person is pleased with his/her gay activity, it's their prerogative. I cannot change it, although I would love to.

A person who grows up and becomes a thief was not born with the tendencies of stealing. He or she got into "stealing" because of some environmental factors. Some scientists say the opposite of what I have said is correct, but keep in mind, scientists are not always "100%" correct!

There are times when a thief comes to his senses and turns things around. It happens all the time. My view is that if a homosexual or bi-sexual person wishes to change from such an "abnormal" lifestyle, it can be done.

I do not dislike any gay person. I resent the lifestyle. A well-known gay area of Chicago covers the grid of Belmont, Addison Ashland and Lake Shore drive.

While taking care of my personal business in that area one night, I came in contact with an educated gay man who asked if he would see God upon death. You see, I was taken aback because of many reasons. Example, a non-gay does not usually ask such a question. Secondly, the fact that he asked me such a question meant that "some' gays are not too sure if what they're doing is an abomination. Or maybe they cannot get out of it so easily. I just don't know!

My answer:
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". I told this gentleman that I too was a sinner who got saved by God's infinite grace.
Finally, I told him that if we abandon our sins (it's hard, but not impossible) we will see God when we pass on.

Guess what?
The gentleman shook hands with me and told me "thank you, sir". I wasn't interested into forcing the gentleman to change anything.

Although you did not ask me to lecture on this wonderful topic of homosexuality/bisexuality, here is my view. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us. Trouble comes in "only" when we try to "justify" our sins! Example, there are others who say "I am a gay, I am a leabian. God made me like that. It's in me and I am in it."
True, God made man. But, He didnot say anyone should steal or tell a lie. It maybe hard, but anyone can change his or lifesytle. It can be me, you or anyone.

No one knows exactly how homosexuality entered into human history. I would imagine that the practices associated with the erotic attraction of people to one's own gender have been around since the dawn of humanity. The earliest accounts of homosexual behavior seem to be found in ancient pagan religious practices. At least, the pagans included homosexuality in the worship of various gods. Whether the inclusion in worship was because the practice was already a part of the society-at-large or if the pagan worship introduced the practice is impossible to determine, although some understandings of Paul's writings argue for the latter.

Human beings began to worship many gods very early in human history. These early gods were most often associated with fertility, agriculture, and war. One of the early gods of the Assyrians, which later spread into the area known as Canaan, was the goddess Asherah. She was worshipped as the goddess of fertility. Often worship of this goddess included orgies and sexual practices. The goddess of fertility was often worshipped in the form of a tree with many female breasts carved into the trunk. These trees were central in a grove where worship was conducted. One would invoke or appease the goddess in order to gain fertility for one's self, the tribe, or the clan.

When polytheism, the worship of many gods, was dominant on the earth, gods could be both male and female. These gods were not considered to be infallible or all-powerful like the Christian concept of God. Often they were very much like people with desires and the ability to make mistakes. Gods were believed to have sex with one another and procreate. Those who practiced these religions often felt that the nature of these gods had to be appeased in order for the tribe to survive. Having sex with a god as a part of worship, or to seek help for fertile crops, animals, or selves, was a logical extension of the concept of polytheism. Since sex was required for fertility in humans, they believed having sex with a god was all the more crucial and beneficial.

Phallic-Penis Worship

Tammuz was the Phoenician deity identified with Adonis of the Greeks. He was the husband of Ishtar also known as Asherah to the Semites and Aphrodite to the Greeks. Followers of the cult believed that Tammuz was a beautiful shepherd who was killed by a wild beast. His wife's longing for him led her to enter Hades to deliver him from death. His worship is connected with poles, similar to Totem poles of the early native Americans, which served as phallic symbols, or replicas of the penis. This cult grew to be extremely sexual in its practices. He is said to return from Hades every spring and return there during the winter. Spring orgies were associated with the planting season and a bountiful harvest. In at least one culture, his worship included homosexual activities. Adonis is referred to in the erotic literature of the homosexual community today. His supposedly perfect body and beauty is sometimes promoted as an ideal that may often take on god-like dimensions.

The Greek god Dyonysus was worshipped and followed by men known as Satyrs, who are always depicted with an erect penis. A god from the orient, Shiva, of India, is worshipped with a long linga, or phallic pole. It is said that Shiva went into the woods to watch men play, they caught him and cut off his penis. In order for Shiva to be restrained, once they learned he was a god, they replaced his penis with an artificial one.

An early Babylonian god was called Baal. The name literally means possessor, and came to be translated into the word, lord, referring to an owner of a particular piece of land. Baal took many forms over the years. Originally he was worshipped as the sun god. He was therefore believed to be both benevolent, when he caused the crops to grow, and cruel, when he scorched the earth with heat. Due to the perceived power and influence of this god, those who believed in him felt they had to continually appease his anger. They walked a delicate balance between awe and fear in order to maintain their lives. The various Baal gods took their place beside the Asherah, their female counterpart. Often the worship of Baal included a pole, or phallic symbol, in worship.

As the ancient Babylonians gained influence, perhaps as early as 8,000 BC, they spread their religion. Babylonian cities included towers, or Ziggurats, which served many practical and religious purposes. These towers were strategic to the defense of the city. They also served as points from which the stars could be plotted both for scientific study as well as for religious significance. One additional purpose of these towers was as shrines. The tower at Babylon is attributed with gold statues of gods and a golden bench at the top for sexual worship.

Ziggurat towers appear to have been plentiful in the days of ancient Babylonian influence. They served as phallic symbols. Early worship at these towers included masturbation allowing the man to spill his semen on the earth. The earth was seen as female, since seed is sown in the earth, therefore male gods were invoked to make and keep the ground fertile.

Interestingly, phallic towers remain to this day. The various orders of masons erect towers as memorials. May Day is a holiday in the British Isles when a phallic pole is decorated with streamers and colored, and a festive dance is performed. This spring rite is directly connected to ancient fertility practices seeking the god's blessing on the spring crops. There is a phallic tower in Vatican Square at Rome. Although the perceived significance may have changed over the years, these symbols of male-worship still exist.

One of the most famous Ziggurats and the best archeological find of such a tower is at Ur of the Chaldees, home of the ancient patriarch Abraham. Abraham's father had been an idol maker in this prominent town. It was Abraham who separated himself from the polytheistic people around him and initiated monotheism, the worship of one God. Abraham is revered as the father of faith for the Jews, Islam, and Christianity. Although Abraham was a devout monotheist, his descendants struggled with polytheism for generations to come.

Towers and poles have been included in many forms of ancient religious practice. They are often associated with the penis in order to deify male-ness. Towers, similar to the Babylonian temples have been found in ancient Egypt. The pyramids certainly have religious significance. The Mayan culture in North America is unknown for the most part, but their culture included these towers. The pantheist, belief that everything is god, and animist, holding all of nature sacred, like the cultures of the early Native Americans, developed totem poles, which are more obviously phallic, as a part of their worship of nature as god. Masturbation, leading to excretion of the semen and sperm onto the ground, has often played a part in early polytheistic and pantheistic worship.

Giving the Male God More Male-ness

Most likely, additional homosexual practices became a part of polytheistic worship as a successor to masturbation. Evidence suggests pagan priests orally stimulated the sexual organs of the worshippers in order to facilitate masturbation in ancient mid-eastern cults. If one believed that having sex with a god would bring fertility, it was easy to also believe that, if a man added his male-ness, through his semen, to a male god, fertility would be multiplied all the more. Male gods could plant seeds and were therefore seen as more productive than the female gods to some. When a man ejaculated his semen into another man's anus at the shrine, he was depositing more male power to the gods. With the additional strength of the semen of many men, the god could then insure a bountiful crop, a larger herd, and many children to care for the field.

This practice grew into, not only forms of pagan worship, but also a means of supplying money for the temple. Catamites, boys and men who were exclusively used for passive anal sex, began to serve the temples. One must wonder whether boys were sometimes forced into this kind of sexual contact due to economic circumstances, much like their female counterparts. Women often survived only by prostitution since they were allowed no inheritance. Orphan boys may often have found themselves in the same predicament. Regardless, it was very early in human history that both male and female prostitutes were used in temple worship in order to raise funds for the temple, as well as support themselves. :grin

Ancient Greece
Greek culture is often promoted as the most accepting of homosexuality. To some extent, this may be true. The Greeks developed a hedonistic attitude toward the human body and sexuality. Although we may think of hedonism as lustful today, Greek philosophers wrote of hedonism in much more glowing terms. They believed that the naked human body, both male and female, was worthy of respect and admiration. They took great pride in the physical form. Public nudity was both tolerated and often encouraged.

The art and statuary of the ancient Greeks reflects this love for the body, particularly the male body. A major negative of this attitude is that those who were handicapped or unattractive children were often left to die, killed, or used in sacrifice to a god. It was not unusual for men to comment on the attractiveness of other men, or for them to express affection for one another. At least part of the reason for this fascination with physical attractiveness and sex is that the Greeks had developed into a culture that had a great deal of leisure time. They were not required to work constantly in order to survive. Blumenfeld and Raymond wrote: “Similarly, the Greek attitude toward sex was, for the most part, value-neutral. …And, though exclusive homosexuality was probably discouraged as a threat to the family, it was widely tolerated both for older men who had children and for younger men prior to marriage.” (Blumenfeld and Raymond 1988, 155)

The Greek military attitude toward homosexuality was that it brought a sense of comradeship. It was often believed that a person would fight harder to protect his unit if that unit included a lover or lovers. This unique form of male bonding is attributed by some to the greatness of the Greek military might. In spite of this encouragement of homosexual practices, the picture is different for those who were exclusively passive at anal sex. They were believed to be polluted, and to have become like women. Therefore, they were expelled from military service as untrustworthy.

The issue of being exclusively homosexual was extremely difficult. Although the Greeks recognized passion and erotic attraction to both and either sex, they were not tolerant of those who were not also attracted to women. This could very well be due to the recognition that society must be able to reproduce in order to survive. The union of a man and a woman is required to reproduce. “After the age of nineteen or so, the young man was expected to marry and establish a family. Those who did not, or who continued to engage in homosexual relations exclusively, were subject to ridicule, or worse. In addition, exclusive sexual passivity in men was met with criticism and, at times, treated severely. ... rape of a free boy/young man (no such sanctions existed for conduct with slaves) was harshly punished, and male prostitution (again, by citizens) was condemned severely.” (Ibid. 157-158)

Greek society only negatively defined homosexual activity when it was exclusive or related to prostitution by a citizen. In nearly every other instance, homosexual conduct was considered acceptable and practical. It was simply a way of enjoying the beauty and awesomeness of the male bodies that they revered so highly.

The attitude toward the family and education could have also played a role in the attitude toward homosexuality. The family was considered the basis for reproduction. Women were restricted in their sexual activity because they were needed in order to bear children. Men could have sex with either women or men, so long as they met their societal obligation to reproduce. This is probably why exclusive anal sex was prohibited. Catamites could not bear children for their partners.

Fathers were not seen as the primary agent of socialization, and the mothers were often only useful for nursing and caring for children. The state took the greatest amount of responsibility for the child. Education was the responsibility of the teachers and philosophers. Girls were excluded from the education system that was designed to teach boys how to be men. The student was expected to respect and admire his teacher. The teacher was expected to gain the devotion and affection of his student. Therefore, homosexual conduct between a teacher and student was considered a valuable part of the education process. The family, on the other hand, was simply needed for procreation.

Ancient Rome
Another great civilization was that of the Romans. This empire was influenced heavily by the Greeks. Hellenistic influence included attitudes toward sexuality. Roman gods are virtually the same as Greek gods except that their names are Latin. It is said that fourteen of the first fifteen emperors were homosexual. During the republic period, Cicero declared without challenge that there is nothing illegal about a man taking another to the country in order to enjoy his erotic sensual pleasures. Although one could easily have sex with his wife at home, a man in the baths, a prostitute in the brothel, and a slave in a dark corner, he would have only been criticized if he were not able to keep everything in its place.

The moral issue toward sexuality in general, and homosexuality in particular, revolved around the idea of control for the Romans. One could enjoy any kind of sex, so long as he did not allow himself to be controlled by his partner. If the wife made demands in response for sex, it would have been disgraceful for a Roman male to give in to her desires. Similarly, if a man was having sex with another man, he could not give that man privileges in return.

A major point of difference between the Greeks and early Romans was in their attitude toward education. While the Greeks dismissed the father's responsibility for educating the child, the Romans considered this a primary responsibility of fathers. The teacher was seen as an extension of the paternal responsibility to train the child. A teacher, therefore, was prohibited from sexual relations with a student, since one would not have sex with his own child, nor would the child have sex with his father. The teacher was viewed as vicariously fulfilling the role of the father.

In the sixth century AD the Roman Empire outlawed homosexuality. This was partly due to the influence of other cultures upon the Capitol City, but mostly due to the spread and influence of Christianity. Christianity became the popular religion of the day, and at the same time frequently compromised biblical principles for the purpose of expediency. Those religions that encouraged both female and male prostitution were also banned from the empire.

Although Christian influence brought about this change in legal behavior, not all of the early church adhered to the same kinds of attitudes. According to Boswell, “Despite his violent rhetoric against homosexual practices, Saint John Chrysostom himself obviously considered homosexual attraction perfectly normal and constantly juxtaposed homosexual and heterosexual desires as two faces of the same coin. In complaining, for instance, about sinful motivations for entering the temple of the Lord, he mentions in terms of equal likelihood a man's desire to see the beauty of women or of young men who frequent the sanctuaries.” (Boswell 1980, 160)

Motives for condemning homosexuality were also generally mixed with condemnations of any kind of eroticism in general. According to this sexual theology the only valid reason for sex was in order to procreate. Sensuality and sexual desire of any kind was viewed as an evil "desire of the flesh."

The duality of humanity, the doctrine that human beings consist of two parts; physical and spiritual, has led many theologians to argue against any kind of sexuality at all, and laid the foundation for a supposed celibate priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church. The biblical view of humanity's duality does not condemn the body as evil, but as something that can be used for either evil or good. In spite of this the latter idea seemed to prevail.

Western Europe gradually changed its attitude toward homosexuality. The Catholic Church gained influence and officially stood opposed to homosexuality. However, this was certainly not what was always practiced. “Charlemagne, who considered himself personally responsible for the creation of a Christian Europe, appears to have been quite shocked upon hearing that some of the monks in his kingdom were "sodomites." …He besought the monks "to strive to preserve themselves from such evils"...but no civil legislation against homosexuality was enacted.” (ibid 177)

Post-Roman Homosexuality
------------------------------
The break up of the Roman Empire is attributed with a time of changing attitudes toward homosexuality once again. Although some attribute homosexuality with at least a part of the reason for the collapse of the Empire, there is little, if any, evidence to support this view. However, it could be possible that one of the reasons for the increasing decline of Latin influence and rise of Germans and other Europeans is due to the fact that the Latins did not continue to have children at a growing rate. It could be that the restrictions on being exclusively homosexual found in Greece would have helped preserve Latin influence.

The rise of anti-homosexual attitudes toward the end of the empire and the rise of the middle ages seems to have changed when the various states of the empire emerged. While Roman Christianity officially held that homosexual practices were sinful, little was done to enforce this code, even among the priests and monks. Some evidence suggests that monks were often placed in logistical positions where homosexual contact would have been difficult if not impossible to control.

Tolerance of homosexuality seemed to rise until about the thirteenth century. There was a time when monarch and commoner could be openly homosexual. One particular relationship brought the king of England and the king of France into the same bed, professing their love for one another. During this time there was an active homosexual subculture with influence in many areas of life including the arts and the church.

The period of conformity began with a desire to bring many subcultures together. The Inquisition followed, with many people condemned to death because of suspected or actual acts of sodomy and homosexuality. By this time, sodomy had come to be identified as nearly any kind of deviant, other than the norm, sexual behavior.

The rise of intellectualism and the Protestant Reformation did little to change attitudes toward homosexuality. The Spanish Visigoths punished homosexuals by castration. The Reformation brought stronger condemnations of those who commit homosexual acts. France punished homosexual behavior with loss of the testicles for the first offense, loss of the penis for the second offense, and death by burning at the stake for a third offense. Henry VIII outlawed homosexuality in England in 1533 with penalties including loss of property and death. Police monitored Molly Houses, or brothels for male prostitutes, and those who visited were put to death. This practice continued until the early 1700s.

The earliest record of someone receiving the death penalty for homosexual acts in what would become a part of the United States was in St. Augustine, Florida in 1566 when a man was executed by the military. The United States maintained the death penalty for convicted "sodomites" until about 1779 when Thomas Jefferson proposed that Virginia drop the death penalty for the crime and replace it with castration. Some states have revised the punishment for sodomy over the years, and some states and localities have passed laws protecting those who commit homosexual acts.

The Revolution in France brought an end to criminal laws regarding sexual activities in 1810 under the Napoleonic Code. England abolished the death penalty for acts of homosexuality in 1861. Homosexual history is one of abuse, prejudice, pain, and death.

In its report released on the wellbeing of the children of Liberia, National Concern Youth of Liberia, a local child rights advocacy claimed Liberian children are being enslaved by either their parents or guardians. In the report, the group recorded that a quiet number of children are in the streets being uses as 'sell slaves.'

The Chairman of the National Concern Youth of Liberia, Lamine .L. Massaley recounted the organization's experience with children. He disclosed that they've conducted with children and gathered that most of them were brought from far away counties by their biological parents, friends or family members to acquire them an education in Monrovia, but on the contrary, they are being used as bread winners, selling in all street corners.

"Many children aren't living with their biological parents but due of hardship and providing financial support for their education by foster parents and gudiance leave them vulnerable".

"As part of our mandate to go after the truth, several cases were recorded and some cases show that instead of guardians sending these children to school, they use them as sell slave through streets which is against the Geneva Convention of the International Child Rights Law," he said.

The NACYOL official said they have efficiently worked in Monrovia and it environs and were able to take 3,931 children from streets. 1,921 of the number were males and 1,986 were females, and that they sent them back to their respective families in the various counties.

Since the formation of the organization in 2007, he said they have been able to work along side various ministries and agencies of government such as the Ministry of Justice, Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization, Youths and Sports, Gender and Development and Labor Ministry to raise awareness on the plight of child street sellers.

Outcry over disowned US rape girl
--------------------------

Offers for help are pouring in for an eight-year-old Liberian girl disowned by her own family in Phoenix, Arizona, after being raped by four boys.

The girl is under the care of the Arizona Child Protective Service (CPS) because her parents said she had shamed them, and they did not want her back.

Phoenix police said calls had come in from all over the US offering money, or even to adopt the young girl.

The boys, Liberian immigrants aged nine to 14, have been charged with rape.

The case has sparked outrage across the US and even drawn condemnation from Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, an outspoken anti-rape campaigner.

"I think that family is wrong. They should help that child who has been traumatised," Mrs Johnson-Sirleaf told CNN.

"They too need serious counselling because clearly they are doing something, something that is no longer acceptable in our society here," she added.

Brutal attack

Media reports said the girl was lured into a shed on 16 July with promises of chewing gum by the four young boys.

There, they held her down and took turns assaulting her for 10 to 15 minutes, before her screams alerted officers nearby.

The oldest suspect, a 14-year-old boy, will be tried as an adult on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault, police said on Friday. He is being held in police custody until trial.

The other three - aged 9, 10, and 13 - are charged as juveniles with sexual assault and kidnapping.

But the police said no charges will be filed against the parents.

"They didn't abandon the child," Phoenix police sergeant Andy Hill told AFP news agency. "They committed no crime. They just didn't support the child, which led to CPS coming over there."

Sgt Hill said people from eight or nine US states had called wanting to adopt the girl or donate money.

"It has been unbelievably fantastic in terms of support for the child," he said.

Uganda MP urges death for gay sex
A Ugandan MP has proposed creating an offence of "aggravated homosexuality" to be punishable by death.

Ruling party MP David Bahati wants the death penalty for those having gay sex with disabled people, under-18s or when the accused is HIV-positive.

Homosexual acts are already illegal, but the Anti-Homosexuality Bill proposes new offences and urges the toughening of existing penalties.

Earlier versions of the bill were widely criticised by rights groups.

The BBC's Joshua Mmali, in the capital Kampala, says the bill has a good chance of being passed as senior figures from the ruling National Resistance Movement are likely to back it.

President Yoweri Museveni has made several speeches outlining his own anti-gay views.

Gays 'persecuted'

There are estimated to be 500,000 gay people in Uganda, from a population of about 31 million, according to gay rights groups.

Gay activists have long alleged persecution and existing laws already allow large fines and life imprisonment for some homosexual acts.

“ Members of parliament are overwhelmingly supporting this bill because homosexuality is illegal ”
John Otekat Emile Independent MP
Mr Bahati's bill proposes widening the definition of homosexual acts and wants to fine or imprison anyone found to be promoting homosexuality.

The bill states that its provisions are intended to "protect the traditional family by prohibiting any form of sexual relations between persons of the same sex".

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission has urged the bill to be dismissed.

They say it violates several international agreements Uganda has signed up to - as well as contradicting the country's own constitution.

But John Otekat Emile, an independent MP, said he believed the bill had a "99% chance" of being passed.

"Members of parliament are overwhelmingly supporting this bill because homosexuality is illegal in Uganda, and we have that clearly in the penal code," he told the BBC.

Emmanuel Dombo, an MP with the ruling party, agreed and said it was an important issue to investigate.

"What we need to look at are the sentences - what kind of sentences or punishment should be prescribed for sexual offenders in this respect - that is the big question," he said.

But our correspondent says the authorities already find it difficult to prove cases under current laws because evidence is difficult to obtain.

Some people who have openly declared that they are gay have not been prosecuted because declaring sexual orientation is not a crime, our correspondent adds.

something to think about
Miss. Togba when ever they gays want to make any point so that it can be heard they usually beat on the blacks check this out about a judge who refuse to marry mix race couple; "A white US justice of the peace has been criticised for refusing to issue marriage licences to mixed-race couples.

Keith Bardwell, of Tangipahoa Parish in Louisiana, denied racism but said mixed-race children were not readily accepted by their parents' communities.

A couple he refused to marry are considering filing a complaint about him to the US Justice Department.

Mr Bardwell said he had often conducted the weddings of his black friends."

look at such nonsense some white people whom many of them are mixed race but it never show... this is why think they're pure I got've news for that none historians WHITES who think they're are not mixed wrong for sure they're mixed with mogolians, middle-easterns and Africans(within Europe) but for some reasons other race that intermarry with them disappears in tine air this is why most of them think they're pure...( wrong idea).

secondly, talking about not suffering from discrimination because you're not mixed race wrong... due to the fact I am black and a Liberian yet I suffer from discrimination because my Father is Bassa and my mother is Kru... when ever I go among the kru people they called me Bassa boy and when ever I go among the bassa they called me Kru boy if I can recalled my Mother was crying to her father saying why do you discriminated my son he is also your grandson like the rest of others grand children therefore no one is clear from discrimination no matter what..

Thirdly, the whites think the best white person is the blonde child which is the golden child in their race that is a discrimination in itself..
I think they white man is enjoying the resources of this planet therefore they're looking for something to make them miserable, let fact the fact 80%percent of the white race go to bed without hunger and roof over their head including clothes to wear these are the basic needs of humanbeings since we've been striving for modernity as humans.

WELL miss. Togba please excuse any mistake due to the fact that I am using an internet cafe in the congo...

US evangelist Oral Roberts dies

Renowned US television evangelist Oral Roberts has died in California at the age of 91, his ministry has said.

Mr Roberts was taken to hospital after a fall at the weekend. His spokesman said he had died from complications from pneumonia in Newport Beach.

Mr Roberts's philosophy was the unity of mind, body and spirit, although he was cool on labels of "faith healer".

He reached millions from the 1960s onwards, wrote dozens of books and founded Oral Roberts University.

The university, chartered in 1963, is based in Tulsa in Oklahoma, where Mr Roberts had entered an evangelistic ministry in 1947.

It was there he took up his theme, which many labelled faith healing, although Mr Roberts said that that was God's duty.

But he did conduct hundreds of "miracle healing crusades" for thousands of people in more than 35 countries.

Controversy

Mr Roberts was one of the first evangelists to see the power of the broadcasting medium, bringing cameras into his sermons in the mid-50s - a path followed by such fellow preachers as Pat Robertson and Billy Graham.

As with many televangelists, his money-raising courted controversy.

He famously said that God would strike him dead if he failed to raise $8m for his City of Faith medical centre in the 1980s. He attracted $9m but it later closed.

His son Richard resigned as president of Oral Roberts University in 2007 following allegations that funds had been misspent.

Born on 24 January 1918 in Oklahoma, Oral Roberts said that overcoming tuberculosis at 17 was the driving force behind his emergence as one of the leading evangelists.

He also survived two heart attacks in the 1990s.

Wake Up!
Please explain to me the relevance of following a religion that speaks of love for your fellow man yet condones hate and malice upon peaceful people that have nothing to do with yourselves. Homosexuality is as normal as Heterosexuality but due to misguidance of man, in particular, people have been ostracized, mamed and killed.Wow, a religion that suppose to support love and morality sure does practice hypocrisy as well. This "abnormal lifestyle" as you people name it has never been shown to be an abnormality in the brain nor a physical disability with those that are. Gay people are not asking to have sex with you. They are not out there molesting children and raping women -heterosexuals and pedefilers are.
Please lets stop justifying the disapproval, hate, or however you want to nullify your feelings on this issue. Homosexuality is not obvious like being black or another race, but its STILL HATE because of who you are NATURALLY. Unfortunately, in the human race we make the same mistakes that were bestowed upon us. That is what you call ignorance!Hey remember during slavery white people use to say blacks were evil according to scriptures and that they were the dark nation? Did you see there interpetation as correct? Its time to use common sense-you do not have to be a sheep and follow every thing thats told to you.

26They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,[b] which is across the lake from Galilee. 27When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. 28When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!" 29For Jesus had commanded the evil[c] spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.

30Jesus asked him, "What is your name?"

"Legion," he replied, because many demons had gone into him. 31And they begged him repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss.

32A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into them, and he gave them permission. 33When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.

1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them.

-----------------------------
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints

LAS VEGAS (Dec. 14) -- The owner of a brothel more than two hours' drive from Las Vegas said she hopes to hire Nevada's first legal male prostitutes within a month, now that state health officials have approved a method to test men for infectious diseases.

The world is ready for women, or even other men, to legally buy sex, said Shady Lady Ranch owner Bobbi Davis. Plus, being the first to offer male service could boost business in tough economic times, she said.

"With so many other male revues going on in Vegas, we thought it was time to give this a try," Davis told The Associated Press.

Until now, men have been effectively barred from legally plying the world's oldest profession in Nevada by the specificity of a state health law requiring prostitutes to undergo frequent cervical testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

The health board approved a regulation to allow urethral testing for men -- a crucial rule change by the state agency with ultimate power over whether prostitutes can or can't work.

For more than 25 years, no licensed female prostitute in Nevada has contracted HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, said George Flint, a Reno wedding chapel owner and longtime lobbyist for the Nevada Brothel Owners Association.

"My concern is that we continue to maintain that kind of record," he said.

Davis, Flint and Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo all acknowledged Friday that Davis still needs county approval to become the first of the state's 24 legal brothels to offer a lineup of men.

"We're going to look at it. We have some concerns," said DeMeo, who serves as a voting member of both a county health commission and a board that oversees alcohol, gambling and brothel licenses.

"The ramifications of this are going to be statewide," he said. "We're going to have to deal with it at our other six brothels in Nye County if they want to offer the same service. We want to make sure we protect customers and make sure the industry is regulated with clarity and understanding."

Prostitution has been legal in rural Nevada counties since 1971 under strict state health board oversight but is against the law in the Las Vegas and Reno areas.

Flint said he feared the idea of male prostitutes serving male clients could spur a legislative backlash. He said he works to make the brothel industry socially acceptable to both libertarians and conservatives.

"I think the Legislature is really going to give me some heartburn over this," Flint said in a telephone interview after appearing before the state Health Board in Carson City on Friday to endorse the Shady Lady proposal.

"But I think it's an inevitability," he added, "and the brothel association has reluctantly agreed to support this as a test."

Davis said she wants to add two men to the three women she currently has living and working at her compound of trailers off U.S. 95 about 150 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

She said the women usually charge about $300 per hour for the five to 20 customers who visit on any given night.

"We don't know how to structure the men's pricing yet," Davis said.

Tsvangirai: No to gay rights move

Zimbabwe's Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has joined President Robert Mugabe in dismissing calls to enshrine gay rights in the new constitution.

"I totally agree with the president," he said, state media report.

Homosexual acts are currently illegal in Zimbabwe. Mr Mugabe once said gays were "worse than pigs and dogs", sparking international condemnation.

Gay rights has become a controversial issue in several African countries in recent months.

Mr Tsvangirai joined his long-time rival Mr Mugabe in a power-sharing government a year ago but relations between the two men remain tense.

'Very worrying'

President Mugabe told a belated celebration of International Women's Day that he had recently learned of moves to introduce gay rights in the new constitution currently being discussed.

"That issue is not debatable, it's not up for discussion," he said, according to the state-owned Herald newspaper.

"It is just madness, insanity. The ancestors will turn in their graves should we allow this to happen."

And Mr Tsvangirai said he agreed.

"Women make up 52% of the population... There are more women than men, so why should men be proposing to men?"

Chesterfield Samba, director of the Gays And Lesbians of Zimbabwe (Galz), told the BBC News website he was seeking clarification of the comments.

But he said, if confirmed, they would be "very worrying".

He also confirmed that Galz would be making a submission to the constitutional review commission.

Although homosexual acts are illegal in Zimbabwe, Galz has an office in Harare and Mr Samba said the police generally left them alone.

Supporters of Mr Tsvangirai hope the new constitution will pave the way for free elections, possibly as soon as 2011.

In Uganda, an MP has introduced a draft bill which makes homosexual acts punishable by life in prison and death in some circumstances.

In Malawi, a gay couple has spent three months in jail after holding a party to celebrate their engagement.

And in Kenya, police intervened after rumours that a couple were planning a gay wedding.

Obama’s health care bill passed by House democrats
March 26, 2010

WASHINGTON-Congressional Democrats have sent the final piece of landmark health care legislation to President Barack Obama, the last legislative chapter in the wrenching national debate over how to overhaul America’s health care system.

The House of Representatives on Thursday night approved — for the second time — a package of fixes to the sweeping bill Obama signed two days before. The measure includes better benefits for seniors and low-income and middle-class families.

Thursday’s vote was 220-207, as majority Democrats prevailed despite 32 defections, and no Republican support. The same bill had passed the Senate earlier in the day 56-43, with all voting Republicans and three Democrats voting “no.”

Obama was expected to sign the measure early next week.

Lawmakers were heading home for a spring recess to face a skeptical — and sometimes even threatening — electorate. The health care reform also promises to be a key issue in November congressional elections.

Obama has taken to the road to promote the health care reform, in part to help his party’s chances of holding onto its majority in both chambers of Congress.

“We made a promise. That promise has been kept,” Obama told a crowd in the Midwestern state of Iowa on Thursday.

“From this day forward, all of the cynics, all the naysayers — they’re going to have to confront the reality of what this reform is and what it isn’t,” the president said. “They’ll have to finally acknowledge this isn’t a government takeover of our health care system.”

Taken together, the two bills extend coverage to 32 million uninsured Americans and aim to crack down on unpopular insurance industry practices such as denying coverage for people with pre-existing medical conditions and to reduce federal deficits by an estimated $143 billion over a decade.

The United States has been the only developed nation that lacked a comprehensive health care system. Many Americans rely on employer-subsidized coverage, which became increasingly precarious during the recession, as millions lost jobs and with it their family’s health coverage.

Most Americans would now be required to buy insurance, or face penalties if they refused.

In the hours ahead of Thursday’s vote, lawmakers reported isolated threats of violence.

At least 10 Democrats now have reported harassment, including incidents involving at least four of their offices in New York, Arizona and Kansas. An undisclosed number of lawmakers have been given increased police protection.

On Thursday, two Republicans said they had been harassed.

The fix-it bill was slightly changed by the Senate from a version that passed the House last weekend, necessitating Thursday night’s second vote by the House because both chambers must approve identical legislation before the president can sign it.

Republicans were bitterly opposed to the end.

“We need to repeal Obamacare and replace it with policy that will create more access, create jobs, which will lower the cost of health care and not be a government takeover of the health care system,” said Republican Rep. Paul Broun

Poor guy
A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"

Liberia: 'Don't Use Girls As Collateral for Survival'
25 June 2010
------------------------------

The Executive Director and CEO of a local non-governmental organization‘ ABLEEJAY’, based in District #4, Grand Bassa County, Mr. George Harmon, has urged parents to stop using girls children as collateral in order to survive.

Mr. Harmon who spoke as the keynote speaker during the 8th graduation ceremony of the Rock Town Point International School in Saye Town, 3rd Steet, Sinkor, cautioned parents to stop using girls children as collateral and warned them further to desist from forcing them in the streets just because they, as parents, want to survive.

Mr. Harmon, a senior auditor at the General Auditing Commission (GAC), has frowned on the habit and called on the government, parents, teachers and the students to build a solid foundation for the future generation.

“Many parents used their girls’ children as collateral for their survival. This is cruel and totally wrong. If you have your Bible you may read Leviticus chapter 19 verses 29 which quote: Do not prosecute thy daughter to cause her to be whore hence, the land become unwholesome, and the land will be full of wickedness. If they, the girls’ children are properly educated, they will serve you in your own image” he illustrated.

Mr. Harmon, speaking on the theme “Laying Up In Store for Thyself A Good Foundation Against The Time To Come,” told the audience that the government, parents and teachers, were all under obligation to build a solid, good and concrete foundation for the betterment of the children, but added that this would not happen in the absence of a well defined role that each party must play.

Mr. Harmon who began his keynote address on a much more rhetorical note had these words to offer “Every good builder will build on a good, solid and concrete foundation in order to support the weight of the house when it is completed. With this kind of foundation, the sun and erosion from the river will not do damage against the building because the builder recognizes that there will always be the rainy and sun seasons. This concrete for the foundation must be the combination of sand, cement, crush-rock and water. But on the contrary, if the builder will choose to build the house on a sandy or muddy area, without these mixtures, then the builder will fail because when the rain and sun come, they will surly destroy it.”

With this explanation provided, he then preceded to state clearly the function of each of the stakeholders concerning the future of the children.

“To this gate and according to my own understanding, there are four kinds of people that must be part of this mixture in order to have a concrete foundation for our children namely the parents, which symbolizes the sand, we have the teachers which represent the cement, you have the government who represents the crush-rock, and the student which symbolizes the water. Each of them must have a clear defined role to make this gate opening a possible one” he narrated.

He said parents should see their role as clearly defined by Biblical Principles and for the government, he added, it must be able to provide free and compulsory primary education, as well as providing qualification and training for teachers in all schools across the country so as to enable children have a bright future. He also urged teachers to see themselves as people with morals and they should desist from the exchange of sex for grades.

Finally, the 2007/2008 graduate of the University of Liberia warned students and the gradates in particular to study their lessons and to discontinue the use of their precious time in video clubs watching African movies, and said if they adhere to such advice, they will benefit from it in the future.

“Lastly to you the graduates, I say congratulations to you for this day. I have just spoken to you on the foundation of your future. Your future depends on how you will play it. If play the game well today, there will be no problem for you tomorrow. You are the main target of this foundation. The government, parents and the teachers will all play their role but you have to do your part. You must study your lessons to make a pass. You must be able to prepare yourselves for the challenges ahead” he explained.
