In
all of the ancient and modern religions and philosophies conceded that
the joining of the soul to the physical body results in a “living soul”
on this earth.
But we are not known as living souls but as certain characters and personalities, each distinctly different in many ways and classified only in certain broad generalities.
Our consideration, as Grand Gedeans, should be what constitutes the personality of a living being. Character is generally considered as the ethical and moral principle which becomes the guide in life for each individual. Character , like individuality , is something that is not only constantly changing in many respects, but is such a combination of elements of the physical self that it may be changed or modified at will. We mold our character, build our character, and establish our character by the things that we think, principles we hold and adopt, and the acts we perform. These are the attributes of a person’s character. When we participate in elections, these are the guiding principles, these are the trade marks we look for in individuals who aspire to leadership.
The transferred of $33,000.00 (Thirty Three Thousand dollars) from the account of the Grand Gedeh Association, without the knowledge of the signatory of said account, projects an air of suspicion and distrust of an administration who intends to bludgeon their way into the coffers of the association without going through due process. This act in itself is a criminal one. The questions on the minds of most Grand Gedeans now are, who grant access to said account, who provided to Martha Kannah and her cohorts, the account number, and how can a bank grant access to a group of persons who are not signatory to that account, or is it an inside job. .perform by an individual who is an employee of Citizens Bank…. What is the relationship of the individual to Martha Kanneh? Mr. Glay has demonstrated true character by not removing the amount to another bank, without the knowledge of Grand Gedeans; he kept the money in its original domain, because he has confidence in the integrity of the process set in place in the Grand Gedeh Association.
This is sound leadership; he should be commended and congratulated. Years ago, we were told that previous administration left $32,000.00 after four years of providing leadership, but its protégé and predecessor reported only $14,000.00 to Mr. Glay. There was no bank account to transfer money from. In fact, Mr. David Gbortoe, the outgoing president, handed to Mr. Glay a bank check of $14,000.00, after ten months of cat and mouse games. But where is the reported $32,000.00 left by Mr. William Nyanue to Mr. David Gbortoe? The board of The Grand Gedeh Association continues to remain silent on its whereabouts and availability. How could members of an organization allowed this type of unprofessional and unethical behaviors in its leadership ranks? Individual using the assets of the association to transport cars to Liberia and the board of directors ignore the existence of such corrupt practice; why is the board remaining silent? This behavior on the part of the board continues to question its legitimacy as a functioning and unbiased institution. It is one thing to have hatred for Henry Glay; it is another thing to save guide the integrity of the association. This current board finds it difficult to differentiate darkness from daylight.
Hatred in the soul of man is a dangerous thing. Hatred for Gborho people, especially those from Tuzon, is going to destroy the fabrics of the Grand Gedeh Association. Collective guilt is a dangerous thing; Samuel Doe was Gborho, therefore all of Gborho, must be Samuel Doe. The dislikes for Henry Glay has nothing to do with his personality or character, it has to do with the fact that he is Gborho and he is from Tuzon. He is perceived as a representation of Samuel Doe in the minds of some people on the board. In all estimation, this is a sick state of mind. This is the same mindset that propelled others during the civil war to unsuccessfully endeavor to annihilate members of the Krahn ethnic group. Willfully taking an organization’s funds without following due process is a criminal act.
Christians are told in the Bible, beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Whererefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Please put the money back where you got it from, Mrs. Martha Kannah, you are not President of the Grand Gedeh Association
